英語で行う中学校1年生の授業:ケンちゃんといつでもティーム・ティーチング(全台詞)

平成29年3月公布の新学習指導要領では、中学校でも「授業は英語で行うことを基本とする」とされています。このことに関しては、別ページ「授業は英語で」で改めて議論しますが、ここでは20年以上も前にすでに行っていた実践を紹介します。

 

中学校1年生に対して英語で授業を行うのなど無理だとお考えの先生もいらっしゃるかもしれませんが、そうではないことをここで証明いたします。確かに、急に英語でやろうとしたり、普段日本語で話している内容をただ英語に翻訳して話したりするだけでは授業は成り立ちません。中1の最初から易しい英語で話しかけ、生徒にも英語で話すことが当たり前だと思わせる授業をしてきたからこそ、半年後にこの授業が可能になっているのです。どうか、そのあたりを読み取っていただければと思います。

ここで紹介するのは、平成8年10月8日第6時に行った中学校1年生の授業の様子を、その中で交わされた生徒と教師の発言をすべて文字化したものです。同年の「ELEC同友会第2回全国大会」のビデオによる授業研究で公開するにあたり、事前に全台詞を書き起こした資料を提供したので、デジタル・データが残っているというわけです。それをここで紹介します。
